Multi-stage washing with deionized water removes electrolyte residues. Target: <0.01% residual electrolyte. Filtration separates powder from wash water. Quality check at this stage ensures purity specifications are met.
Hydrogen or reducing atmosphere treatment (300–400°C) eliminates surface oxides formed during washing. Controlled drying reduces moisture to <0.2%. This step is critical for achieving final purity >99.80% Cu.
